To address climate change and biodiversity loss, the Government of Canada established the Natural Climate Solutions Fund in 2021. The fund invests $4 billion over the next ten years into:

• 2 Billion Trees Program (2BT) led by Natural Resources Canada ($3.19 billion)
• Nature Smart Climate Solutions led by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) ($631 million)
• Agricultural Climate Solutions led by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada ($185 million)
