A study conducted in the Mill Creek Watershed consisted of estimating the costs of developing naturalized stormwater ponds with the required storage volume to offset runoff from peak flows associated with 100-year storms. Long-term cost estimations assumes a useful life of 25 years before needing replacement (costing 50% of the initial capital) and annual OPEX costs of 3% of the total capital.
