A permanent, federal program, the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) provides funding twice-a-year to provinces and territories, who then allocate the funds to their municipalities for projects supporting local infrastructure priorities.

Projects that fall into one of the 19 categories may be funded. These categories include:

  • wastewater infrastructure;
  • solid waste management;
  • disaster mitigation; and
  • drinking water.

Funding for these projects, may help muncipalities adapt their infrastructure and health strategies to a changing climate.
