Emergency Management Assistance Program

The Emergency Management Assistance Program (EMAP) supports First Nations communities in adapting to climate change and preparing for natural disasters, and provides funding for projects and opportunities in:

  • mitigation and preparedness
  • response and recovery

Funding is open to First Nations communities:

  • located on a reserve or lands now part of modern treaty settlements; and
  • have been impacted by an emergency event; or
  • will receive direct support from the funded initiative 

Deadlines vary depending on the type of funding requested.
