The Environmental Damages Fund provides funding for projects benefitting Canada’s natural environment, which help increase its resilience to climate change. The four priority funding categories are, in order of priority:
– restoration
– environmental quality improvement
– research and development
– education and awareness.

Examples of projects that support the environment while also contributing to climate change adaptation include supporting biodiversity, improving air quality and health through tree planting, and restoring and protecting shorelines from erosion.
