Funded by the Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Climate Change, the Net Zero Emerging Concepts and Technologies (ECT) program will run for 3 years from 2023-2026.

ECT is intended to help Nova Scotia reach its goal of net-zero emissions by 2050, and includes support for research initiatives on nature-based approaches for carbon sequestration, an aspect of climate change adaptation.
