Wawanesa’s Community Wildfire Prevention Grants are provided by Wawanesa Insurance. Projects should be aimed at enhancing local community resilience to climate change through the use of various wildfire prevention activities. Examples of previously funded projects include the creation of wildfire buffer zones around homes, home assessments with sprinkler kit incentives, community wildfire protection plans, and public education initiatives. Efforts to reduce the risk and impact of wildfires helps to safeguard homes, ecosystems, and infrastructure against increasing fire threats, thereby enhancing local adaptability.

The next round of applications will be opening in the fall of 2025.
