Canaan-Washademoak Watershed (restoring existing buffers)

The study evaluated the opportunity costs of implementing riparian buffer policies. Scenario analyzed: existing 30m riparian buffers that were degraded or absent were restored or re-vegetated. Average opportunity costs were calculated for forested lands using a wood supply model, agricultural land costs based on reported regional rental values, and residential land from assessed property values.
