Funding Example

The Community Funding Program (CFP), from the Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects (ICCE), supports Indigenous community-led projects that enhance and build capacity for cumulative effects assessments, monitoring, and management through a Two-Eyed Seeing approach. Cumulative effects can be environmental, social, cultural, and health-related, and are caused by an accumulation of multiple interactions from human activities and natural processes across space and time.

Two funding streams are available:
Stream 1: Developing Capacity – supports hiring or training staff to understand and develop community-led knowledge plans related to cumulative effects. Examples of activities under this stream include: understanding traditional land use studies, and developing a GIS system.

Stream 2: Enhancing Capacity – supports advancing regional relationships in cumulative effects, promoting collaboration, intercommunity engagement, and intergenerational knowledge sharing. Examples of activities under this stream include: toolkit development, mentoring other Indigenous communities, and Elder-youth knowledge sharing.

Deadline to apply: 9 PM AST, July 8, 2024.
