The Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Incentive is a part of the Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements program offered by the federal government of Canada. The DRR Incentive’s purpose is to encourage sustained investment on behalf of provincial and territorial governments, to reduce the risk of disasters on people, communities, and governments.

The incentive focuses on three (3) priority areas:
– Understanding risk
– Mitigation planning
– Pre-disaster recovery planning

Interested Provinces or Territories must complete and submit to Public Safety Canada, the DRR Incentive Self-Assessment. Further instructions are provided on the incentive’s webpage. Applications are currently open.
