Starting in 2026–27, the Build Communities Strong Fund – Local Impact Stream supports community infrastructure projects that improve public spaces and services while helping communities prepare for climate-related impacts and build long-term resilience. Funding is available to eligible public-sector, Indigenous, and non-profit organizations for different projects such as new construction, upgrades, retrofits, replacements, climate adaptation, and other initiatives that strengthen community resilience and deliver lasting local benefits.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis while funding remains available.
