This tree planting & urban forestry program from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities seeks to increase tree canopy coverage across Canada..

Two streams of funding are available:

• Tree planting: supports tree planting projects in communities of all sizes, including those in remote or rural areas. Applications are currently closed and will reopen in 2026.
• Urban forestry plans and studies: This stream aims to increase community capacity to strategically manage urban canopies. Applications are currently open and are due on April 15th, 2026.
