The Climate Change Health and Capacity Building Program aims to advance knowledge, capacity and innovation for adapting to the health risks associated with climate change. Up to $17.7 million in funding will be awarded to support work advancing climate action in the health sector and that helps to protect the health of people in Canada from extreme heat. The program is divided into two streams:
– HealthADAPT: Building climate-resilient and low-carbon health systems (up to $4.5 million)
– HeatADAPT: Protecting the health of people in Canada from extreme heat (up to $13.2 million)
The application process is a single stage and funds will be disbursed through multi-year funding agreements.
