The Climate Change and Health Adaptation Program from Indigenous Services Canada is split into two streams:

  • Climate Change and Health Adaptation Program North, (ongoing); and
  • Climate Change and Health Adaptation Program for First Nations South of 60°N (annual, currently open).

Both streams are open to First Nations and Inuit communities and organizations, and non-governmental and volunteer organizatisons, and are currently open for proposals until October 20, 2023.

Impacts of extreme weather events, emergency preparedness, and traditional food secuirty and access to country food are just some examples of previously supported projects. Through this program First Nations and Inuit communities are assisted in identifying, assessing and adapting to the health impacts on climate change.
