Through the National Adaptation Strategy, the Government of Canada is investing $164.2 million into the Flood Hazard Identification and Mapping Program (FHIMP).
The program is designed to assist provinces and territories with climate adaptation actions specific to flooding such as:
- completing flood hazard maps
- making flood hazard information accessible
- informing decisions around flood mitigation and resilience building
Provincial and territorial governments may collaborate with municpalities, Indigenous communities, and private sector bodies, among others.
