The Indigenous Guardians program funds projects that:
- support Indigenous rights and conservation activities
- maintain sustainable economies, and
- continue connections between natural landscapes and Indigenous cultures.
Examples of eligible projects, include but are not limited to:
- land and water data collection and monitoring
- conservation, land use, and land relationship planning, and
- gathering and application of Indigenous laws, teaching and knowledge.
These projects and others support Indigenous communities and their traditional ecological knowledge as they adapt to a changing climate.
