N:OW for Net-Zero provides funding to students and educators seeking to implement hands-on projects. While the focus is on projects that reduce GHG emissions, the fund also presents an opportunity to link climate mitigation with adaptation through projects that reduce future impacts while reducing GHG emissions.
Projects must be youth-led and implemented by a group of at least two youth and one adult. Indigenous community projects that substantially involve youth are also eligible. Priority will be given to projects that address both goals, as well as those occurring in rural, remote and Indigenous communities.
Funding amounts are flexible, with projects between $2,500 and $15,000 taking precedent. Applications can be submitted in written or video format, or presented during a scheduled virtual meeting. Applications for cycle #2 of funding closed on September 12th, 2024.
